Welcome to the City Of Camarillo which is located just west of the Conejo Valley down the grade on the 101 freeway. Camarillo enjoys a cooler climate than it’s inland neighbors. It started as an agricultural town but today it is a blend of agricultural, high technology, managerial, and professional occupations.

Camarillo’s students attend public schools through the Pleasant Valley, Mesa Union, Somis Union and Oxnard Union (High) School Districts. Four of the Pleasant Valley School District schools have received state or national recognition for academic excellence. Camarillo’s high school students have achieved some of the highest Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores in Ventura County and generally rank well above state and national averages. There is also over 20 fine privately run schools and preschools in Camarillo. Just south of Camarillo is the state’s newest university, California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI). Moorpark, Ventura, and Oxnard Junior colleges are also a good option within 15 minutes.

Camarillo Peasant Valley Recreation and Parks District include 16 parks and an indoor swimming pool, over 30 miles of city bicycle routes plus six public and 10 private golf courses within a twenty-mile area. You can go Scuba Diving and Kayaking or take a boat within 10-mile ride to the eight offshore islands within the Channel Islands National Park. The Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area and the Los Padres National Forest are all within easy driving distance. Hike or bike the many open area trails. The Pacific Ocean is within 7 miles of Camarillo so therefore residents can easily enjoy hiking, camping, Golfing, water skiing, fishing, horseback riding, sailing, surfing, and scuba diving among other activities, easily in a single day. Fresh ocean breezes provide clean air and a moderate climate.

Cultural activities include the Camarillo Arts Council (including the Summer Concerts in the Park ), the Camarillo Community Theater , the Camarillo Children’s Theater, Community Band Concerts , the Camarillo Art Center , the Camarillo Celtic Festival, the Camarillo Fiesta Association and Annual Fiesta and Street Fair, the Pleasant Valley Historical Society , the Camarillo Ranch Foundation, and the nearby Strawberry Festival .

The Camarillo City Library is a full-service library, with approximately 100,000 books on its shelves as well as Internet access.

Camarillo is known for its premium outlet malls and another feature is the Farmers Market which takes place every Saturday morning on Ventura road in Old Town with the freshest vegetables that you have ever tasted. Many fine restaurants are available as well with over 90 restaurants and eateries to choose from. Camarillo is a coastal community within driving distance to the San Fernando Valley and parts of Los Angeles, offering a quality of life with superior weather.
