Welcome to the City of
 Simi Valley, in Ventura County,  is a great place to live and has an easy  commute to downtown Los Angeles due  to the ease of the 118 freeway.   Simi Valley has been ranked the safest city with over 100,000 people in the United States according to the FBI for several years in the last ten years. It is consistently in the top 3 cities along with Thousand Oaks.  The City currently has 118,000 people living thereenjoying the clean air, good schools, high incomes,  quality of life, and friendly people within driving distance to downtown.  The median housing price is about $495,000 housing is available from the affordable to the affluent.  There is an abundance of town homes as well.

      The city is home to Simi Valley Hospital, a full-service hospital that serves the health care needs of the community and the acclaimed Nancy Reagan Breast Center. The Simi Valley Senior Citizens Center and the Simi Valley Council on Aging, provide seniors with numerous programs and services which promote maximum independence, safety and quality of life. 

    Simi Valley has a great freeway system taking you to Los Angeles or to the Pacific Ocean within 45 minutes. Amtrak Metro link station is available to take you downtown or take a ride up the coast. Simi Valley is a great place to live and play.

    Simi Valley residents enjoy rolling hills, a comfortable climate year round, many recreational facilities and a short commute to the city.  

Recreational and Cultural Activities:

     There is an abundance of recreational facilities including bike , hiking  and equestrian trails, community pools , golf courses  and  tennis courts and bowling alleys . The city maintains thirty five parks and a duck pond.  The Park  District also provides hundreds of recreational programs, activities and special events. The Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley and the Simi Valley YMCA both offer childcare, youth and family facilities.  

         Historic Corrigan Park, a movie ranch and park once owned by Ray Corrigan , is located in Simi Valley and offers more than four miles of trails for running, biking, equestrian and hiking. The trails provide stunning vistas, majestic sandstone cliffs, an ancient oak forest, a year-round stream ,  shaded picnic areas, the Camp Rotary Youth campground and picnic shelters and much more. Many of the trails include informational posts describing past movie events such as the Lone Ranger, Big Valley, F troop, and many movie westerns as well as information on the flora and fauna.

      Simi Valley is home to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library the Library's archives house 50 million pages of documents and over 1.5 million photographs, although the majority of the visitors come to view the films, exhibits, interactive displays and reenactments of memorable events that illustrate the life and times of President Ronald Reagan. The Library hosts special events and celebrations throughout the year for visitors of all ages. All politics aside it is a great place to visit they have changing exhibits, king Tut was a famous one from Egypt. My mom saw a quilt exhibit there.  I saw a Civil war Exhibit there I enjoyed.


      The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center  opened in  November of 1995.  Since opening, the Cultural Arts Center has been host to plays, musicals, concerts, film series, children's festivals, dance recitals, business meetings, wedding receptions, art gallery showings and more! The facility includes a 240 seat theater fully equipped with state of the art sound and lighting fixtures, three full dressing rooms, two art galleries, a multi-use community room with seating capacity between 70 - 90, and a functional catering kitchen.  In its first six years, over 190,000 people have attended events at the Cultural Arts Center.

 Education: 

 The Simi Valley Unified School District provides quality education to over 21,243 students in grades K-12. An additional 8,146 students are enrolled in Adult Education classes . 

Simi Valley Unified School District is comprised of twenty elementary, three middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, one performing arts/technology magnet high school, one alternative high school, and an adult education school.  Simi Valley students consistently score above state and national averages on achievement tests. The district provides a wide array of educational programs that focus on college preparation, since approximately 80% of our high school students attend college after graduation. A wide variety of programs are also available for students with special needs.

Wood Ranch

Wood Ranch is a newer master plan community in Simi Valley complete with a new Elementary School, many parks, and the Wood Ranch Golf Course.

      Higher education is a priority in Simi Valley. The Simi Valley Adult School provides vocational career training, community education, an academic high school program, and many other educational programs. Moorpark College is just minutes away and offers an extensive program of general, vocational and continuing education. Nearby California Lutheran University is an outstanding institution committed to liberal arts education and offering 32 majors as well as professional preparation programs in specific fields of study.
